10 Home Remedies to moisturise your Dry Skin

Home Remedies for dry skin to make your skin hydrated and get back its moisture-
1. Oil Treatment:
Apply a generous amount of olive, almond oil or coconut oil in a mild manner on your body parts prone to dryness prior to bathing. Pamper your skin with a hot oil massage for best results. This ensures that your skin remains smooth and soft and remains properly moisturised.
2. Coconut Oil:
One of the easiest home remedies is coconut oil massage. Found in almost every Indian home, this oil moisturises your skin and stops flakes from coming on skin. The fatty acid in it can compensate for the dryness of the skin and hydrates it. Leave it overnight for best results on the skin.
3. Castor Oil:
Ricinoleic acid and vitamin E are the key components of the castor oil that help in protecting the skin from the harsh effects of chemical agents, warm water and the harsh winters. Dabbing it on your skin on the parched areas except under the eyes give magical results overnight.
4. Glycerin:
One of the most common drugstore products is glycerine. Its cheap as well as readily available and works as good as any expensive hydrant. Mix rose water, lemon and glycerine in equal proportion and store it in the refrigerator. Apply it overnight to see the magic.
5. Petroleum Jelly:
Found in every Indian home, petroleum jelly individually or even when mixed with glycerine in equal proportion can work wonders on your skin. It helps in doing away with flaky skin and giving it that smooth, even toned look.
6. Olive Oil and Egg Yolk Face Mask:
Olive oil and egg yolk either used individually or used as a mixture is an effective remedy for dry skin.Olive oil has antioxidant properties due to the presence of vitamin E and K that make it an ideal solution for treating dry skin especially when it is combined with an egg yolk or two and whipped together to form a face mask having a uniform consistency. The vitamin A in the egg yolk helps in smoothening out the flakes and providing smooth skin. To obtain faster visible results, squeeze a few drops of lemon juice and a teaspoon of rose water to the paste.
7. Avocado and Honey:
When you need to battle dry skin, the combination of avocado and honey comes in handy. Sterolin and humectants are perfect partners contained in the ingredients that formulate a hydrating face mask for flaky skin. Take mashed avocado and pure honey in equal amounts and blend them till a consistent paste is obtained. Apply it for 15 minutes till it dries off and then wash with lukewarm water.
8. Banana and Yogurt Face Mask:
Bananas are an excellent source of vitamin K which makes hem an excellent remedy for dry skin. Take one mashed banana and apply it like a face mask to combat dry skin, let it dry on the face for 20 minutes, and then rinse it off. A combination of mashed banana with plain yoghurt can also be used as a remedial face pack for dry skin. The combination can also be used as a natural exfoliant. When running short of material, you can just make the application on the dry patches for half an hour and then rinse it off.
9. Curd Face Mask for Dry Skin:
Curd contains antioxidants as well as also anti-bacterial properties that help in making the skin soft and radiant. It is an easily available, proven solution for dry skin. It has lactic acid, which combats the bacteria in the skin preventing it from causing acne. For wondrous results, add a dab of honey and squeeze in a few drops of lime juice in the curd and apply it on the skin, leave it for 10 minutes and then rinse it off.
10. Papaya and Avocado Face Mask:
Papaya is known to be a constituent of several facial creams as well as face masks. Avocado has multiple nutrients which help in keeping the skin youthful and glowing. The combination of both ensures that not only does the skin gets rid of dry patches but also gets a beautiful texture that one can kill for. For best results, mash an avocado with a slice of papaya, add rose water and apply on skin. Leave it for 15 minutes, and rinse it off to get that glowing skin.
