10 ways to get rid of stretch marks

People are trying everything possible to get rid of stretch marks. Stretch marks are narrow lines or strips that develop on the skin and which differ in complexion from the surrounding skin. These are extremely common and are a result of sudden stretching of the skin. Stretch marks are visible on the body parts including thighs, shoulder joints, chest and tummy. Women are more prone to stretch marks than men. These marks are formed in the middle layer of the skin when there is a constant stretching or as a result of acute trauma affecting like an accident or pregnancy or maybe weight loss/gain. There are several natural ways to treat and reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

Potato contains minerals and vitamins that encourage the growth and restoration of skin cells. It is a great source of Vitamin C, magnesium, iron, zinc and potassium and acts as an oxidizing agent which prevents slow cell damage.

Cut a medium-sized potato into slices, or you can simply grind it in a blender to extract the juice. Take the juice and gently apply it on the affected areas. Make sure the starch covers the affected areas. Allow it to dry and then wash it off with warm water.

Sugar is rich in glycolic acid which stimulates the production of healthy skin cells and exfoliates the stacked up dead skin cells. It keeps the skin hydrated by locking up the moisture in the skin cells.

Mix a tablespoon of raw sugar with a few drops of lemon juice. Mix it well and apply on the affected areas. It improves the blood circulation. Massage it well on the affected areas before taking a bath.

Lemon is a citric fruit and is naturally acidic. It is another simple way to reduce the affects of stretch marks. Due to its acidic nature, it helps heal and reduce stretch marks, acnes, pimples and other scars.

Rub a lemon wedge on the affected areas in a circular motion. Allow the juice to soak into your skin before washing it off with warm water.

Take two eggs and whip the whites with a blender or a fork. Clean the affected area with warm water and then apply a thick layer of egg whites with a brush or a cotton ball. Allow the egg whites to dry completely and then rinse it off with cold water.

Aloe Vera is considered in every remedy related to health. Its soothing and healing properties can be used to get rid of stretch marks and other skin conditions.

You can directly rub the aloe vera gel to the affected areas and allow it to dry completely before rinsing it off with lukewarm water.
